An upturning of masculinity where classical western narratives are pulled apart and regurgitated into a cross-genre story of gender, power and cowboys.
Following their 2018 performance Cowpuncher, Cowpuncher My Ass continued with a sold out world premier in 2020 at London’s Southbank Centre, a further chronicle to their scorched playground performed by Blakey’s recognisable cast. The work, scored by Mica Levi and dressed by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood was their second collaboration. Cowpuncher 3 saw the trilogy close at Royal Festival Hall with a twenty piece string orchestra from London Contemporary Orchestra.
